Who We Serve

Understanding Who We Serve and Our Commitment

The Live Like Kingston Foundation is dedicated to supporting families whose children have been diagnosed with pediatric brain and spinal tumors, with priority given to those affected by posterior fossa syndrome.

Who is eligible to receive support from the Live Like Kingston Foundation?

Find clear answers about our eligibility criteria, how to apply for assistance, and the types of support we provide to families affected by pediatric brain and spinal tumors.

What are the eligibility requirements for assistance?

To be eligible for support from the Live Like Kingston Foundation, a family must:

Meet the foundation’s financial‑need guidelines.

Be caring for a child diagnosed with a pediatric brain or spinal tumor.

Fall within the current geographic focus (beginning with Southern California, with plans to expand over time).

Have the child’s diagnosis and care verified by a hospital social worker and/or primary oncologist.

How does the application process work?

Applicants start by filling out the contact form on our website and letting us know they are seeking support.

If it looks like your family may meet our criteria, we will send you an application for assistance to complete and return, along with any requested documentation.

Once we receive your application, our team reviews your child’s diagnosis, location, and financial need to determine whether we can help and what that support might look like.

Because each request is considered individually and funding is limited, it may take up to eight weeks to receive a response about an approved application.

How does the foundation prioritize aid distribution?

Support is available to families caring for a child with a diagnosed pediatric brain or spinal tumor. We prioritize requests in this order:

1) Medulloblastoma with posterior fossa syndrome
2) Any brain or spinal tumor with posterior fossa syndrome
3) Any pediatric brain and/or spinal cancer

Right now, our focus is on families living in Southern California, with plans to expand to the rest of California, the West Coast, and eventually nationwide as funding grows. All applications must be verified by a hospital social worker and/or the child’s primary oncologist, and families must meet our financial‑need guidelines to qualify for assistance.

What types of support does the foundation offer?

The Live Like Kingston Foundation helps families access support that is often under‑covered or not covered at all.

This can include help finding and funding therapy, counseling, or other specialized emotional support; advocacy for school needs and IEP preparation; guidance and limited financial help with end‑of‑life planning and memorial projects; and thoughtful support for siblings through activities or gifts after loss.

The exact type and amount of assistance we provide depends on each family’s situation and the resources available at the time of the request.

Are there geographic limitations for receiving assistance?

Yes.

Right now, our primary focus is on families living in Southern California.

As our funding and capacity grow, we plan to expand support to the rest of California, then to the broader West Coast, and eventually to families across the United States.

Can families apply multiple times for support?

Yes.

Families can apply more than once if their circumstances change or new needs come up.

Each request is reviewed separately, and any additional support depends on current funding, eligibility, and what has already been provided.

How It Works

Learn how the Live Like Kingston Foundation reviews requests, and what support may be available for families facing pediatric brain and spinal tumors.

Eligibility Criteria

Families must have a child diagnosed with a pediatric brain or spinal tumor. Priority is given first to children with medulloblastoma and posterior fossa syndrome, then to children with other brain or spinal diagnoses with posterior fossa syndrome, and finally to children with other pediatric brain and spinal cancers.

Application Process

Complete the application form and include verification from your hospital social worker and/or primary oncologist confirming your child’s diagnosis and your family’s financial needs. This information helps us review your request and determine what support we may be able to offer for your specific situation.

Types of Support Offered

We are a growing foundation, and what we can offer will change as funding allows. Examples of support may include, financial assistance for therapies not covered by insurance, sibling wishes or special experiences, caregiver support, educational and patient advocacy, and help with end‑of‑life planning or memorial costs.
